Crafthub EU conference in Oslo Met
It has been an absolute pleasure to present my work at the Crafthub EU conference at Oslo Met talking about my craft, heritage, materiality and how it all has culminated into a sustainable business with a growing interest from an international market. The conference theme I joined was called "Aesthetics of Materiality," where various presenters explored the crafted processes and expressions where the overall theme highlights the interplay between concepts and hands-on techniques in the creative processes.
In my presentation, "A Beautiful Story of Artistry Fused Recycled Glass Transforms Waste into Luxury and Sustainability," I shared the fascinating journey of transforming discarded glass into a marble-like material through a meticulous firing process. It's not just about creating something beautiful; it's about sustainability and responsible artistry. I take great pride in the fact that every broken piece of glass remains visible in the final product, creating a stunning tapestry within the material. My commitment to sustainability goes beyond the aesthetics of the end product, as I believe in the power of art to contribute to a more sustainable world.
Returning to my old University and meeting some of my former lecturers was also a great experience. It allowed me to share how my passion for materials and exploration has not only moulded me as an individual but has also laid the foundation for my business, Oseng-Rees Reflection Ltd. My journey started at Product Design at OsloMet for then continuing at University of Wales. Firstly, looking at aesthetics and material development through the lens of industry productions and then having the opportunity to use my exquisite nature during my PhD at the University of Wales has allowed me to believe in the future of my sustainable business.

I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in the Crafthub EU project and in awe for the fantastic work, tenacity, and the brain behind the project that my former colleague and good friend Shelley Doolan has created. Her dedication, and ability to make this happen will be appreciated by all the project partners across all of Europe.
The Crafthub EU project stands as a testament to Shelley Doolan's exceptional talents, and I consider myself fortunate to have worked alongside her. She was, without a doubt, the driving force behind this project. Her unwavering dedication and visionary leadership transformed it into a reality, uniting partners from across Europe. Her passion for innovation and unwavering commitment to excellence serve as a true inspiration. Shelley is a consummate professional and visionary, leaving an indelible mark on the world of craft and creativity.

Carlow County Council (CCC): Providing leadership for Craft Hub under the guidance of Becky Riches and Paolo Montemurro and Kieran Comerford.3. Astrid Heimer: Initiated the title of the Craft Hub conference.4. Siv Hofsvang and Wenche Lyche: Curated the "Transform" exhibition at the University Campus Gallery in OsloMet.5. Steen Ory Bendtzen: International coordinator at OsloMet.6. Tyra Oseng-Rees: Former bachelor student from Product Design at OsloMet who initiated the 20 year collaboration with Swansea College of Art, and did her PhD in the UK on sustainable glass.7. Einar Stoltenberg: Head of the Department of Product Design at OsloMet.8. Laila Fauske: Vice Dean of Research, Development, and Innovation at Faculty of Technology Art and Design at OsloMet.9. Barbara Stacher: Senior Expert at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Education and Culture (DG EAC).10. Rita Orlando: The artistic curator responsible for the exhibition methodology.11.
